Introduction to Mack's Diz Characters Blog

WELCOME TO MACK'S DIZ CHARACTERS BLOG!

Hey, Everybody!

The purpose of this blog is 3-fold:

1. I am testing Zumo Drive's ability to embed entire photo folders into a blog post.

2. I am experimenting with backward blogging - I created this post last, so it will always appear first on the blog. I want people to open my "static" blogs from the top, then read their way down.

3. I have a large collection of photos I've taken with Disney characters, so I ought to somehow display them to the world, right? These pictures date back to 1978 when I was 4 years old and my pigtails were blonde. The photo above was taken at Disneyland when I was only six.

Below you can view the first slideshow - my family riding a float in the Animal Kingdom parade (2008):

Hurrah For Mickey!

Here is a slideshow of me posing with The Mouse himself:

Classic Characters

These are the originals. I'm missing Pluto, but I'll get that dang dawg someday!

2. Chip – Animal Kingdom
3. Dale – Animal Kingdom
4. Daisy Duck - Tokyo Disneyland
5. Scrooge McDuck - Tokyo Disneyland
6. Goofy – Epcot Center
7. Minnie Mouse – Epcot Center

Disney's Heroic Heroes

Not very many of these guys ...

1. Buzz Lightyear - Disneyland
2. Robin Hood - Disneyland
3. Woody - Disneyland

Disney's Heroine Hotties

Disney loves to create strong, yet feminine, female characters that allow little girls to dress up in princess gowns, yet retain a high self-esteem. Disney heroines are always discontented with their lot in life - and they just LOVE to sing about it! In the very first Disney flick, Snow White warbled about how "someday my prince will come" ... Belle wants "much more than this provincial life" ... Ariel wishes she could be "part of your world" ... Pocahontas pines for whatever lies "just beyond the riverbend" ... the list goes on. Cinderella wants to be a princess instead of a peasant; Jasmine wants to be a peasant instead of a princess. Whatever happened to a girl simply counting her blessings and shutting the hell up?

1. Snow White – Disneyland
2. Aurora – Disneyland
3. Alice – Tokyo Disneyland
4. Jasmine – Disney MGM Studios
5. Jessie – Magic Kingdom
6. Lilo – Disney's California Adventure
7. Pocahontas – Animal Kingdom

Disney's Most Villainous Characters

Disney villains are tame compared to, say, Hannibal Lector or Jigsaw ... but, c'mon, they still give the kiddies nightmares. Have you ever noticed how Disney "bad guys" tend to perish from the very benign act of falling from someplace high? Not gory, but I wonder how many children are afraid of heights thanks to the Disney Channel? I'm cool with heights, but Hannah Montana scares the living piss outta me!

1. Captain Hook – Disneyland
2. Cruella DeVil – Disney's California Adventure
3. The Big Bad Wolf – Tokyo Disneyland
4. Prince John – Tokyo Disneyland
5. The Sheriff of Nottingham – Magic Kingdom
6. The Queen of Hearts – Disney's California Adventure

I'm not in the last picture, and I know that's cheating. But I TOOK the shot of my neice, Abbee, so I was there! I just forgot that I'd never been photographed with her myself.
